Forest Bathing in DC

Facilitated nature immersion experiences in the nation’s capital

What is Forest Bathing?

We guide walks in Dumbarton Oaks Park, and Rock Creek Park is also available upon request. We are currently planning our 2027 walks. If you are interested in hearing about walks as they are scheduled, please click the button below!

Forest Bathing is inspired by several sources, and began as Shin-rin Yoku in the 1980’s when the Japanese government looked for ways to support the health of an increasingly burned out and urbanized workforce. Since then, evidence increasingly supports forest bathing as a preventative health activity that:

  • Supports immune function

  • Provides mental and physical health benefits

  • Improves sleep and reduced stress

  • Increases cognition and creativity

This is a facilitated nature immersion experience that helps participants slow down and connect to the life around them. Walks are anywhere between 1.5 and 2.5 hours long, depending on your needs.
